Cougars get a win on the road

Batesville, Ark. – The Columbia College Cougars earned a victory on the road tonight, defeating the Pipers from Lyon (Ark.) College 69-65. Columbia, ranked No. 19 in the NAIA Preseason Poll, move to 4-7 on the season.
The Cougars came from behind after being down 35-31 at the half. Columbia’s 48 percent shooting performance in the contest helped propel the Cougars over the Pipers.
Columbia forced Lyon into 14 turnovers and converted those turnovers into 16 points.
Four Cougars scored in double figures tonight, led by Chad Thompson would had 15 points on six for 11 shooting. Will Cobb had 13 points, Greg Stegeman ended with 12 and Adam Carpenter chipped in 11.
The Cougars are idle until Sunday, December 6th when they face ‘Living the Dream’ in an exhibition contest as part of the Norm Stewart Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Arena of Southwell Complex.
