Cougars notch victory on the road Canton, Mo. – The Columbia Cougar men's basketball team recorded a win on the road tonight, defeating Culver-Stockton (Mo.) College 56-43. With the win the Cougars, ranked No. 19 in the NAIA preseason top 25 poll, move to 3-4 on the season.

Columbia led Culver-Stockton 28-20 at halftime after shooting almost 38 percent from the field and 43 percent from three-point range.

After a tied up score at the 17 minute mark the Cougars went on an 11-3 run that the Wildcats were never able to recover from. Columbia’s 46 percent shooting in the second half dominated Culver-Stockton’s 27 percent shooting.

Columbia outrebounded the host squad 33-28 and forced them into 21 turnovers.

Senior forward Quintin Totta led the Cougars with 14 points. Chad Thompson finished with 12 points and Greg Stegeman had 10 points.

Columbia returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, November 24th when they travel to Marshall, Mo. to take on Missouri Valley College in a 7:30 p.m. start time.
