Columbia, Mo. - Columbia College women’s basketball coach Mike Davis officially announced today that he has signed Shanae Blake, from Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California, to a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Lady Cougars beginning in the fall.

Blake, a 5’7 guard who is a native of Chino, California, averaged 19.8 points and 4 assists as a sophomore at Chaffey last season. Her squad finished with a mark of 23-6 and a No. 12 ranking among California Junior Colleges. For her efforts, Blake was named to the All-Foothills Conference team.  .

“Columbia College is a great atmosphere.  This is a winning program that is rebuilding and I believe I can have an immediate impact,” stated Blake.

“With the graduation of our top guards, Blake’s leadership, play making ability, scoring and ball handling will be an asset to our program over the next two years.  Shanae’s abilities will be a wonderful fit for our program,” said Davis.
