Drew Grzella
Drew Grzella enters his first season as the assistant director of athletics for the Cougars. However, he is no stranger to the program as Grzella was a standout player for the Cougar men's basketball program for two seasons and has also served as an assistant coach.
Grzella played for the Cougars from 1998-2000, earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2000. Drew continued to work with the program for two seasons while completing his degree in seconday education. Following his time at Columbia, Drew moved onto the University of Saint Mary where he would earn a master's degree in psychology while assisting with the men's basketball program. From 2004-06 Grzella served as an assistant coach at Iowa Wesleyan College.
In November 2006 he was named the first men's basketball coach at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. where he would spend the next three seasons. While there Drew coached two NAIA Scholar-Athletes and four all-conference players including the conference freshman of the year.
In 2010-11 Grzella returned to Columbia to help serve as an assistant for the men's basketball team.
Grzella recently moved to Columbia with his wife Katie Skibiski, a former Cougar volleyball player, and their daughters Ada and Lila.
