Assistant Director of Athletics/Media Relations and Compliance
Cindy Fotti

fottiCindy Fotti was recently named the Assistant Director of Athletics/Media Relations and Compliance after holding the title of Coordinator of Athletic Information and Compliance since 2006, but she is no stranger to Columbia College. Prior to her appointment to this position, she was a graduate assistant to the assistant director/sports information director. In January 2005, while completing her undergraduate degree, she had a demanding but rewarding three months when she filled in as the acting Sports Information Director.

Fotti feels most proud of her transition from assisting to taking charge of the sports information office without missing a beat. She says she owes a great deal of gratitude to the staff at Columbia College and her friends who helped her rise to the occasion.

During her work as a graduate assistant, Fotti graduated from Columbia College with her Master of Arts in Teaching. Previous to this she was Assistant Coach for the Cougar softball team and received her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major in education and a minor in psychology.

Fotti played with the Lady Cougar softball team for two years where she was awarded All-America Scholar Athlete, All-Conference, All-Region and National Tournament All-Tournament Team.

Prior to Columbia College Fotti attended Three Rivers Junior College where she played basketball, volleyball and softball. She graduated with her Associate of Arts degree in 2002.

Fotti is a member of CoSIDA, College Sports Information Directors of America. She also coaches for Team in Training (TNT), a marathon training group that raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Fotti started coaching for TNT in May of 2006 and is a nationally certified running coach.  Having run more than ten full/half/relay marathons herself, she has coached over 45 individuals to the finish line.

With this new position, Fotti plans to make the athletes more academically sound. Her goal is that all Columbia College athletes graduate in four years, or at a minimum, be on the right track for graduation.

Fotti was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada but currently calls Columbia home.
