Cougar Club and Scholarship Fund
Mission
The mission of the Cougar Club & Scholarship Fund is to support Columbia College’s dedication to student-athlete excellence both on and off the field and court of play. Established in 1998, the Cougar Club & Scholarship Fund raises financial support for Columbia College’s five varsity sports, including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Volleyball and Softball.
Cougar accomplishments
Columbia College is one of nearly 300 institutions that compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Cougar athletic program has established itself as one of the top competitors in the NAIA. Some of the Cougars’ accomplishments are:
- 44 American Midwest Conference-Championship titles
- 49 National Championship appearances
- 3 NAIA National Championship titles
- In 2008-09:
- The Men’s Basketball team finished as the National Runner-Up.
- 3 out of 5 Cougar teams finished their season at the National Tournament.
- Cougar Athletics posted a combined overall record of 138 wins, 39 losses and 3 ties—a 77% winning percentage.
Why give?
Your contribution to the Cougar Club & Scholarship Fund will help honor the past and ensure the future successes of Columbia College Athletics. Contributions are used as scholarship support for student-athletes and to improve facilities and provide operational funding for Cougar Athletics. Though you cannot be on the field or the court with the student-athletes, your support is an excellent way to be a part of the team and help the Cougars improve on the tradition of athletic excellence.
